Aeroqual: Strengthening the Foundations for Adaptive Growth

CLIENT CASE STUDY

Reigniting Momentum Through Strategic Alignment

Aeroqual’s marketing team was active but operating in a context where strategic alignment and clarity across departments had become blurred. Immediate roadblocks were preventing forward motion, not due to a lack of capability, but because energy was being spent navigating misalignment, rather than unlocking momentum.

Rather than coming in to ‘fix’ a broken system, our role was to partner with leadership and the marketing team to help identify what was working, where energy was already building and guide towards more strategic impact.

With operations across multiple regions, the focus was on creating a unified strategy, a clear GTM plan, and shared KPIs that would drive alignment and commercial impact across the business.

The Need:
Establishing Strategic Clarity
and Unified Leadership

While Aeroqual has a strong product offering and global footprint, it needed:

  • A cross-functional, cross-regional strategic marketing plan

  • Alignment between senior leaders, regional teams, and commercial priorities

  • Marketing to operate as a strategic lever - not a service function

  • Capability development to sustain momentum

  • A clear platform from which to activate growth, faster and more cohesively

The Approach:
Addressing Strategic Need Through Adaptive Focus

What started as a targeted engagement quickly expanded in scope, not through formal expansion, but through trust, collaboration, and shared exploration.

We supported Aeroqual to:

  • Identify and prioritise blockages the team was motivated to solve

  • Reignite strategic marketing planning and execution

  • Facilitate essential discussions between marketing, sales, and product leaders

Importantly, we didn’t overlay a methodology. We worked with what was already functioning well, helping senior leaders build on existing momentum, not replace it

How we did it

    • Facilitated leadership alignment interviews across New Zealand, Australia, and the US

    • Conducted capability mapping and regional analysis to uncover misalignments and surface potential.

    • Engaged cross-functional teams to reveal where commercial clarity and rhythm were needed most

    • Co-developed Aeroqual’s Marketing Strategy Blueprint, capturing focus areas, strategic bets, and regional lenses

    • Surfaced the approach of a ‘Market Team’ to reposition marketing as a strategic enabler of commercial outcomes and a critical connector across sales, product, and leadership. This shift reframed marketing as a key driver of alignment, insight, and go-to-market execution.

    • Extended the principles of adaptive strategy while shifting from a siloed marketing function to a ‘teamship’ mindset—building stronger alignment, shared ownership, and strategic collaboration across the senior leadership and emerging marketing leaders.

    • Facilitated strategy activation sessions with product, marketing, and commercial teams to align priorities

    • Developed the GTM strategic view for priority markets, with operational plays to test and learn at pace

    • Supported capability uplift within the marketing team to drive transition from reactive marketing to strategic activation

    • Provided strategic mentorship and collaborative support to the marketing leader, strengthening leadership cohesion.

    • Defined the operating rhythm for the Business Engine layer, connecting marketing strategy with structured delivery

    • Initiated marketing performance frameworks to track impact, guide decision-making, and sustain momentum

    • Supported the CEO in consultation to evolve the leadership structure, leading to exploring an opportunity to establish and include a ‘Market team’ at the executive table.

A Unified Strategic Foundation and
Confident Market Activation

The Impact:

Through advisory and fractional engagement, we delivered quick wins and realignment without the burden of transformation theatre.

Together, we co-created:

  • Sales & Marketing Alignment:  Defined strategic and immediate marketing priorities with confidence and clarity.

  • Strategic Readiness: Surfaced high-value opportunities and foreseeable adaptability areas.

  • Accelerated Cross-Functional Shifts: Created a culture of connected conversations, setting the stage for future integration of product, sales, and marketing as one cohesive team.

  • Marketing Evolution:   Now stepping into a true strategic pillar and positioned to lead and act as needed, as the business continues to evolve its structure.

“Flux brought clarity, momentum, and impact into the business from day one. Communication is clear, direct, and every conversation actually moves the business forward - no wasted time.

One of the real highlights has been seeing stronger leadership emerge inside the business - more confidence, a sharper strategic lens, and a clearer link between company strategy and execution.

Flux team has also helped drive stronger alignment across sales, marketing, and product, and brought fresh perspectives that opened up new opportunities beyond the original scope.
It’s been a true value-add partnership.”

— Mark Templeton, CEO, Aeroqual

This work wasn’t about us coming in and applying a plan or a framework. It was about seeing clearly, acting deliberately, and helping teams and the people in them make progress where it mattered most.

That’s what real strategic partnership looks like. Huge thank you to the team for your trust in us to this point. We look forward to a continued partnership with Aeroqual; This has been one of the most future-fit engagements we've led to date.

Mark Templeton’s commitment to actionable leadership, clarity of vision, and willingness to build capability from within has made this one of the most future-fit engagements we’ve led to date.

Long-Term Business Enablement

Sometimes you don’t need a whole new playbook, just a way to bring your people into the same one.

If you're sensing misalignment, stalled execution, or a team that’s capable but disconnected, we can help create a shift.
